Researchers in Baltic Studies meet at Vytautas Magnus University

The final conference of the project “Lithuanian Academic Scheme for International Cooperation in Baltic Studies” (No 09.3.1-ESFA-V-709-01-0002) will take place at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) in Kaunas, Lithuania, on 16-17 March 2023, and will be organised by VMU together with its partners Vilnius University and the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore.

More than 150 teachers, researchers, and students from Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the USA will come together for a discussion on the role of Baltic studies in today’s world, the challenges, and the prospects for the future.

The participants of the conference will discuss Lithuanian (Baltic) studies in Lithuania and abroad, current issues of Baltic studies centres, current issues of teaching Lithuanian as a foreign language, the latest research on the Baltic languages, research on Lithuanian literature in Lithuania and abroad, research on translations from/into the Baltic languages, research on the diasporas, history, ethnic culture, and Lithuanian art in an international context.
