Department of Ethnology at the Faculty of History of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” is pleased to invite you to this year’s seminar for PhD students and young scholars titled “Academic Perspectives”, which will be held from 1 to 5 September 2023 in the already approved for academic forums hybrid form – in the “Rhodopy” Center, village of Slaveyno, Municipality of Smolyan, and online.

For the social sciences and the Department of Ethnology, it has always been of importance that the communication and exchange of ideas should take place not only in formal but also in informal ways and situations. We believe that this is essential for the establishment and expanding of the collegial community and scientific cooperation (including interdisciplinary and internationally). Following this belief our department’s team made long-term efforts to conduct annual student and doctoral seminars that have already become regular. Now it is our ambition to upgrade this tradition and take it to the next level by establishing an annual Seminar for PhD students and young scholars and we are glad to invite you to its third edition entitled “Academic Perspectives”, dedicated to prof. Vesselin Tepavicharov.

We invite all PhD students and young scholars conducting their research in the field of Ethnology, Anthropology, Cultural and Social History to participate with reports on the topics of their PhD thesis.

For guests from abroad there are English online sessions planned.
