VMU Asian Week 2018
The Centre for Asian Studies (CAS) at Vytautas Magnus University together with the students’ clubs “Hashi”, “Wu Wei” and “Hallyu” invites you to the annual event VMU Asian Week 2018. The event will take place on March 5-9 in various venues of VMU and other public places of Kaunas.
VMU Asian Week is a one week-long cycle of events dedicated to East Asia. The event is aimed to introduce general public with the East Asia region through the presentation of culture, languages, martial arts, cuisine. Events organized last time were a great success and attracted a lot of attention from general public and media. You can see the moments from the previous Asian Weeks here.

- Monday (March 5) – Day of Words
1:00 P.M.– 1:50 P.M. Opening ceremony of VMU Asian Week (VMU Small Hall, S. Daukanto str., 2 0floor);
2:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M. Japanese language reading contest (VMU Small Hall, S. Daukanto str., 2 0floor);
2:30 P.M.– 5:00 P.M. Chinese language speech contest (VMU Aula Magna, Gimnazijos str. 7);
2:30 P.M.– 5:00 P.M. Korean language contest (106 aud., V. Putvinskio st. 23);
6:00 P.M.– 8:20 P. M. Movie Night – “Busanhaeng” (South Korea) (VMU Small Hall, S. Daukanto str., 2nd floor). - Tuesday (March 6) – Day of Taste
2:30 P.M.– 6:00 P.M. Food workshop of Japan, China and Korea. Registration is needed. (Restaurant Metropolis S. Daukanto g. 21);
6:00 P.M.– 7:30 P.M. Movie Night – “Monkey King: Hero is back” (China) (VMU Big Hall, S. Daukanto str. 28 ). - Wednesday (March 7) – Day of Movement
2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Drums workshop. Registration is needed;
2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Various martial arts presentations (VMU Big Hall Lobby, S. Daukanto str. 28 );
5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Movie Night – “Waterboys” (Japan) (VMU Big Hall, S. Daukanto str. 28 ). - Thursday (March 8) – Day of Experiences
11:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Korean music and dance performance (VMU Big Hall, S. Daukanto str. 28 );
12:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Culture Fair – student clubs presentations, cultural workshops (origami, calligraphy, cosplay), Flea Market, events by our partners, etc. (VMU Big Hall Lobby, S. Daukanto str. 28 );
4:00 P.M. – 4:30 P.M. Drums performance;
5:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Taiwan Children’s Arts Exhibition Opening Reception;
6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. Movie night – “Monga” (Taiwan) and discussion with Taipei Mission representative Mr. Wu and A.G. Fratila. - Friday (March 9) – Day of Ideas
10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Workshop by social partners (room 310, V. Putvinskis st. 23);
3:30 P. M. – 7:00 P.M. Brain Battle and the closing of the VMU Asian Week. Registration is needed. (Vero Coffee House, Maironio g. 7).
